Cidade PreOcupada 2025 Festival

The visual identity of the Cidade PreOcupada 2025 Festival is born from the deconstruction of the maps of Montemor-o-Novo and Casa Branca, the territories where the festival takes place. Fragmented, these maps transform into shapes that shift and reorganize, reflecting the diversity of artistic occupations that permeate the event.

The organic red lines evoke veins — living connections that intertwine and structure the whole. The shades of brown, green, and beige refer to the earth and the traditional manual craftsmanship that shapes the local identity, while the yellow evokes the Alentejo sun.

The visual system articulates the festival’s multiple languages and is organized around seven essential icons — exhibitions, film, walks, workshops, community action, music, and theater/performance — that guide, signal, and reinforce the collective dimension of the experience.

The proposal is for a sensitive occupation of public space through art. Maps that cease to fix routes and instead open up encounters, poetic overlays, and new possibilities for experimentation—a visual reflection of the urban and artistic transformation that Cidade PreOcupada proposes.
