The navel of the stone or the square wheel

The Navel of the Stone or the Square Wheel is a loving book, made of color and memory. It is born from a story told from father to daughter and now transformed into a book — a happy encounter between word, image and affection.

I was responsible for the graphic design and layout, weaving together image and text throughout the process. The text is by Raquel Laranjeiras Pais, a daughter with attentive listening skills, and the illustrations are by her father, the artist Manuel Faria Pais.

A family project, made with time and care.

The story begins when Manuel stumbles upon a strange square stone and tries to discover its true destiny.
